Andrew Booth set-up Booth Commercial Services Limited in September 2022, following 28 years working for major contractors, regional contractors and medium-sized contractors.
He is passionate about good leadership and management aiming to engage and empower teams to constantly deliver the best quality products on time and budget.
Although approaching almost 30 years in construction, every day brings new experiences to learn from, thereby giving everyone an opportunity to improve their own knowledge and skills. Learning and development is a big part of his management style, empowering others to learn, develop and grow to be more both in business and their personal lives out of work.
Most of his experience has been within the commercial function, working his way from trainee surveyor to commercial director. Whilst commercially biased, not all his roles have been purely commercial, his roles and duties have extended to leading portfolios of work, developing client accounts, developing business leads, converting tender opportunities, identifying and managing risks
He has been privileged to worked with some exceptional leaders within the construction industry, learning and developing into a well-rounded and balanced leader.
Understanding teams, people, talents and skills are essential tools for all managers. Listening to and observing how people work helps to improve the overall effectiveness of the business, whether site or office based. Building exceptional teams is an investment of time, energy and commitment to deliver on promises. As a trained supervisor, counsellor and assessor for the RICS and working with children in his local grassroots football club, he is constantly challenging himself to coach, mentor, train and develop people and strategies.
Equally, both projects and businesses require vision, strategy and teamwork to succeed. Andrew’s career statistics will show that he has led projects from £100k through to £85m and portfolios up to £200m per annum including being involved with Business Boards up to £70m per annum.
